I'm trying to restart a GCMC simulation of a SPC/E water box, but I'm getting an error reading the .chk.
I've tried Cassandra V1.2 and V1.2.2 (from Github) with no luck.

I followed the procedure:

1) Run a NVT simulation for a few steps from a random liquid simulation with the water density (my box is orthohombic because I want to simulate a box of the same size I'll be using for future simulations in considering a nanotube).

2) Run a GCMC simulation starting with a read_config from the last .xyz of the NVT simulation. The idea is to equilibrate for some steps in order to get close to the average pressure and number of molecules for a given chemical potential.

3) Tried to start a production GCMC simulation from the .chk of the previous simulation. This simulation will be used to get the average properties (especially the pressure, which I know will fluctuate a lot, but I want to check if the average is at least close to 1.0)

However, I'm not able to perform the simulation of step 3) because Cassandra has a problem reading the .chk:
Start type
********************************************************************************
Starting configuration will be read from checkpoint file

************ERROR************
An error in the input line 91 of input file.
This error occurred in subroutine Get_Start_Type on step 0.
Fatal Error. Stopping program.

The line 91 of my input is:
checkpoint mu-45-5_run_gcmc_therm.chk

From what I understood of the manual, this is the right way to restart a simulation, right?

The files are attached below.

Many thanks!

Hi,

If you change dashes in your file name to underscores, rename the checkpoint file, it should work out. We were able to run the simulation on our end.

Let us know if you have additional problems.

Best,
Jindal

Hi Jindal,

Thank you very much for the fast reply.

Indeed, changing the dashes to underscores solved the problem.
Maybe it would be a good idea to add this to the manual?

Thanks anyways!

Regards,
Henrique
